Treating allergies are:

Drugs to reduce symptoms. Allergy medications to reduce the response of the immune system and relieves the symptoms. The drugs to be used depends on the allergy you have. These may include over-the-counter or prescription medications in the form of oral medications, nasal spray or eye drops. Some common allergy medications include corticosteroids, antihistamines, decongestants, cromolyn sodium and leukotriene modifiers.

Immunotherapy. For severe allergies or allergies do not go away with treatment, your doctor may recommend allergy shots (immunotherapy). This treatment involves a series of injections of purified extracts of allergens, usually administered over a period of several years.

Emergency adrenaline. If you have a severe allergy, your doctor can make an emergency adrenaline shot to bring with you. Because of severe allergic reactions, adrenaline shot (EpiPen, EpiPen Jr., Twinject) can reduce the symptoms until you get medical care.
