Treatment Of Cradle Cap

Arp does not usually require medical treatment. It heals by itself within a few months. Meanwhile, wash your baby's hair once a day with mild baby shampoo and scrub your scalp lightly with a soft brush to loosen the scales.

If frequent shampooing does not solve the problem, contact your doctor of your child. They may recommend a stronger shampoo - as an adult dandruff shampoo that contains tar, ketoconazole 2 percent or 1 percent selenium - to help break the stairs. Hydrocortisone cream is used every day or every other day, it is sometimes useful to reduce redness and inflammation.

Older children, infections, ringworm of the scalp may resemble the cradle cap. This condition may require a prescription antifungal shampoo. Another condition, reminiscent of cradle cap and eczema in children.
